Excellent care requires excellent people
Every person in our Practice is essential to your care so we endeavour to recruit, train and retain the best people. Everyone who joins us understands our expectations and receives regular training and personal development to ensure we all share the same ethos of putting our patients at the heart of everything we do.
By providing a caring environment for everyone, we engender loyalty. As the saying goes – we don’t expect loyalty, we earn it. Our practice is part of Rodericks Dental, a company with over 70 practices across the country. We are different because our company is run by dentists – for patients.
Malcolm graduated from Dundee University in 1988 and worked in London before taking over Pond House Dental Practice in 1993.
Malcolm’s main clinical interests include Aesthetic Restorative Dentistry, Endodontics (root canal treatment) and Orthodontics (Braces). From 1992 he worked in an Orthodontic practice – one day a week – for 10 years. He accepts referrals from colleagues for endodontics and orthodontics.
Throughout his career Malcolm has devoted significant time to developing his skills and knowledge in all areas of dentistry. He has always had an interest in postgraduate education and after following a pathway of courses and exams he became a Tutor for the Faculty of General Dental Practitioners in the Oxford region in 1997. In 2000 he set up a company that provided postgraduate courses for dentists across the South East of England. In 2010 he became Regional Adviser for Continuing Professional Development at Oxford Dental Deanery which provides education and training for the whole dental team throughout Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Berkshire. He is currently Associate Postgraduate Dental Dean for Health Education England, working across Thames Valley and Wessex.
He is a member of the British Endodontic Society, the British Society of Restorative Dentistry, the Faculty of General Dental Practitioners, The British Dental Association, and the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. He retains a significant commitment to lifelong learning.
Malcolm has a gentle approach and favours minimally invasive techniques. His calm manner gives confidence to anxious patients. He has always used magnification when working, and was one of the first dentists in UK to use an operating microscope for all his work. The difference this technology brings is true attention to detail and very accurate finishing of restorations. Malcolm believes this makes his work last longer.
He lives with his family locally and enjoys most sports, especially rugby, skiing and golf.
